Forum Set will be ShutDown for Maintenance
Thu Jul-22-10 09:23 AM

The best practice while dealing with the database rebuilds, for the individual forums effected by the discspace compromise, is to pull them offline, so the problem doesn't fall down the rabbit hole.

Probably this evening, is my best guess .

So, if you're reading this before hand, you're informed, if after the fact, you're explained.

______

Naturally, since this has happened before, it could have happened again, due to an unfortunate set of events for me, mostly hardware and business related, I chose to forgo fooling with this site's disc, due to PS2 initialization problems and therefore missing RAID drives on the machine that normally controls the administrative duties. (That incident was hours before leaving town the other week. That trip had already been rescheduled once, so the accommodating had been spent. )

I regained that system last night, now more of these other matters can be attended to.

I'll drop the set in a few minutes to clear the leftover database errors.

So if you see Forum Offline Notice, that's why.
